Driving Home

{23:365} threw the camera into manual and snapped a long exposure on the drive home tonight. wishing i knew my settings better so i had better control and could actually aim to achieve a look like this when I wanted to.

Favorite Fruit

{22:365} i've been craving the bright red, juicy seeds of sweetness since february. the pomegranate doesn't techincally come into season until september, but we must be getting some early fruits in because today at the grocery it was love at first sight. can't wait for more.

Quick Shoot

{21:365} today i was short on ideas. i started by taking some photos of the dog, and they just weren't capturing the moment. i quickly held the camera up and snapped a photo of the lamp in the guest bedroom. done. and, i actually really like how the photo turned out.

Up For Renewal

{20:365} if there is one thing i love, it would magazines. even as a kid i loved the periodicals sections of the library and loved flipping the glossy pages while standing in line at the grocery store. they make for the for the perfect light reading on the train.

First Game of the Season

{19:365} summer may be coming to close, but tonight was the hubs first softball game of the season. enjoyable evening hearing the bats crack and the kids running wild.

Celebrating 26 on the 26th

{18:365} today's challenge of posting a photo of myself proved to be much more difficult than I expected. i suppose there are 11 more 26ths to get a better photo.

Rail Yard

{17:365} everyday on the train we pass the union pacific trains waiting to go, waiting to come, waiting for someone to climb inside. today i finally pulled out the camera and shot away regardless of the strange looks from the fellow passengers on the train.

Knee How Xie Xie

{16:365} the hubs' maneki neko (lucky cat) purrs the same saying everyday "knee how xie xie" as it beckons more good luck into our home. our good friend jenny brought us this lucky cat who welcomes good fortune with endless thankfulness.

Please Do Not Strip Corn, Thank You

{14:365} drove out to the farms today to purchase corn for dinner, onions and raw peanuts. (Making boiled peanuts, a little tribute to the south. there are just wagons of corn in husks with signs kindly asking you not to strip the corn. we purchased peaches n cream. the hubs requested i title this photo "this is kind of a corny picture."

'Til the Cows Come Home

{12:365} i pass this field everyday where the long horn cows graze. there are a few llamas that i hope to photograph over the course of the year as well that call this field home. remember i live in the city, not farmland, but either way these animals make me smile. still needing to learn my camera better to be able to capture these photos in the setting sun.

{10:365} entered the double digits today. looking for new inspiration. finding some workdays difficult as light is poor when i leave for work and when i come home from work. this image is blown out by the flash, hoping to keep improving.

{9:365} i have take this picture a couple times, and although it may not be the best example of photographic art, this is the view I see everyday as I sit at my desk. we having a running joke that when we can't see the cash register building anymore it means it is time to go home. as you can see it wasn't time to go home yet when this was taken.

On with the new...

{8:365} we finally, after nearly eight times to AWF, purchased our new mattress. they provide a warning in the store that new mattresses may be 3 inches taller than current mattresses. well, ours was nearly 14 inches taller than the old mattress. riley couldn't even jump into the bed and jason needed a running start. jason took apart the bed frame and dropped the mattress to the floor and it now sits 14 inches lower than this picture. hoping for sweet dreams in our beautyrest tonight! (also, please note the new bench in front the bed taken from jason's dining room set. it is a perfect fit.)

Even Exchange

{7:365} you win some, you lose some. today we hosted our second garage sale, and the neighbors were purging too. somehow i ended up bringing home a set of dishes, after having just sold off three sets of dishes since april. you must admit these vintage plates and tea cups are a beauty. week one of project365 complete!

Feeling Shattered

{6:365} so i'm not really feeling shattered. in the midst of getting perpared for our garage sale i discovered a broken glass in the storage closet, not a big loss.

{5:365} i say i wake before the crack of dawn, this morning the sun was making its daily entrance just as the train was leaving the station. i really like the sun spot on this picture, wish it was more pronounced.

The Journey Begins

Throughout the course of this year I have come across several articles about people who started, accomplished, and attempted Project 365. The only requirement of parcipating in Project365 is to simply commit to taking one photo everday for one year. I thought there is no better time to try my hand at Project365 than now.

My hope, that through this photo journey I'll come to better love the life I'm living. I'll love the ups, the downs, the mundane, the exciting, the simple everyday moments of this wonderful life I'm living.

So welcome, welcome to the 26th year of my life. Along the way, I encourage you to begin to {love what you live} as well.
